Julie Evans is an Associate Professor of Advertising & Graphic Design and Web Technologies in the IT Division at Wake Tech Community College (WTCC) in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a member of AIGA Raleigh and has been teaching in the NC Community College System since 1998. She teaches courses in graphic design (GRD), digital media (DME), and web technologies (WEB). She develops innovative course material to meet changes in the design industry and won a Blackboard Exemplary Course Award for development of GRD-263 Illustrative Imaging with Carla Osborne in 2020. Julie has spoken at several national and regional higher ed teaching and learning conferences. Originally from North Carolina, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts–Design Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and an Associates Degree in Advertising & Graphic Design from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC). She won an Excellence in Teaching Award at GTCC in 2007 and at WTCC in 2019. Julie is a practicing designer specializing in print, social, and web design, working with a variety of clients from corporations to non-profits.
