Hello! I am a research social psychologist and associate professor of psychology. As a social psychologist, I studied how the structure of policies influenced perceptions of fairness and how we interact with one another based on those perceptions. Equitable and fair policies help us work together productively and collaboratively. When we have unfair policies, even when we don't realize or acknowledge the inequity, we are more likely to make mistakes, have higher stress and are less productive. During my career, I have facilitated workshops on unlawful harassment and discrimination, discussions on race and race relations, LGBTQA+ trainings, and other areas related to diversity, equity and inclusion. I have also served as a statistician analyzing K-12 exams for race and gender bias. As professor, I strive to create a classroom, whether in person or online, where all students are valued and belong. Aspects of the classes are continually being revised to increase transparency, equity, and value for the educational experience. We all have room to learn, grow, and be awesome!
